Who is Woven Voices

About Woven Voices

Woven Voices is a participatory art and cultural production practice that transforms spoken and written dialogue into woven textile works. Rooted in ancient weaving traditions and contemporary dialogue practice, Woven Voices creates spaces where collective voices are slowed down, held, and given form. Each work functions both as a lived experience and as a lasting artifact, carrying the presence of those who took part.

The Architect

Lex Empress is the creator and architect of Woven Voices. As a performing artist and dialogue guide, she holds the conceptual, ethical, and artistic coherence of the work, shaping how voices are gathered, woven, and remembered.

Origin

Woven Voices emerged from a simple question: how can dialogue remain when people leave? The answer became material.
